The Story
The Story
I’ve always been a fan of Dr. Sabine Maßinger. Not only is she skilled and friendly, but also open to complementary medicine. For this reason, I visited her many times in the past when I had the feeling that “conventional medicine” alone was not enough. She was also the one who suspected I had gallstones in 2016 based on a blood test, although I was not suffering from any pain at the time. She was right: three months later I found myself at my GP’s surgery with severe pain in my upper abdomen. Diagnosis: gallstones, followed by surgery six months later.
The Journey

After situations of particular stress involving increased intake of medication, it is important to support the intestines. Antibiotics, but also other drugs, can damage the intestinal flora as well as the intestinal mucosa. Micronutrients to support the intestinal mucosa and plant substances such as camomile extract, which support detoxification, are a great help in these cases. Avoid foods that are high in fat. Meat products should also be greatly reduced or eliminated from the diet. Cabbages, pulses and fried foods should also be reduced. Basically, all rich and intense foods (cured, strongly spiced, very sour, very sweet, very spicy, smoked) should be avoided and preference given to mildly spiced dishes.
Alcohol is broken down via the liver and is considered an irritant with colic potential.
Those with gallstones small enough to travel in the system should avoid coffee as it can trigger colic.
